Boxwood's annual flagship event, Question Time, took place in March 2014 at The Connaught Hotel. The theme was “Driving sustainable growth in international businesses” and the discussion was chaired by Rt Hon Baroness Virginia Bottomley. The panel was Charles Woodburn, Group Chief Executive Officer, Expro Group; Andrew Moore, Chief Merchandising Officer for General Merchandise and George, Asda; and Kevin Craven of Balfour Beatty.
An invited audience of forty C-suite executives from across the consumer, infrastructure, TMT and financial services industries enjoyed the debate under Chatham House Rules.
Boxwood MD Chris Wakerley summed the evening up by saying “Very often people go to events where they are immersed in a single industry. Seldom do senior leaders get to interact with their peers across such a variety of sectors and business. The night provided some real insights into what others are doing and the obstacles they must overcome to build and expand their businesses.
Event chairman Rt. Hon. Baroness Bottomley of Nettlestone remarked “For Britain to be successful, all our business must be global. West is going East, North is going South. The rate of economic growth of the fast growing markets is tremendous and this is an opportunity to be seized. All companies need to be helped to look global and Boxwood, through events like this, are doing exactly the right things to help them.”
