Boxwood Insights Director Paul Martin is speaking next week at AECOC's Electro Seminar. AECOC is a Spanish business association with over 26,000 members. This year's seminar will bring together more than 100 professionals from the leading companies in the consumer electronics sector. On 28 January 2015, we hosted an event with PowaTag on the 35th floor of the Heron Tower. We invited four 18-15 year olds to explain how they shop online to a group of retail executives. It was an insightful event that showed the importance of understanding different and varied customer journeys - even within the same age group - and the growing power of the digital consumer.

Boxwood's annual Infrastructure industry dinner was held on the walkway of the iconic Tower Bridge. This year's topic was Infrastructure for the Next Generation.
On Thursday 11 June 2014, Boxwood was joined by 12 top executives at the Century Club in central London to dine in the company of David Gilbertson, author of ‘Wine Bar Theory', a concept described by him as “an antidote to inefficiency”. This is a somewhat appropriate subject for us, as in the work we undertake, we consistently see clients become paralysed by trying to do too much at once and drowning in complexity. As such, the core concepts of the book - simplicity and focus -are hugely useful to bear in mind as you undertake business transformation, and in life in general.
On Friday 16th May, Boxwood supported our chosen charity, children’s hospice Shooting Star Chase, by participating in an ‘Apprentice’-style challenge. Four teams took over the running of Shooting Star Chase’s charity shops in Twickenham, Hampton Hill, Teddington and Weybridge, competing to raise the most money both on the day and through prior donations. £16,500 in total was raised for the charity.
At the MCA Awards ceremony, held at the Park Plaza on 24 April, Boxwood won the prestigious Project of the Year Award for our work with Balfour Beatty. We also won the award for Performance Improvement in the Private Sector with Balfour Beatty, were Highly Commended in Change Management in the Private Sector for Guardian News & Media, and shortlisted in the Strategy category for our work with Travelex.

On Wednesday 3 July, Boxwood hosted the second of its 'Evening with an Author' series at The Hospital Club, this time featuring inspirational writer and speaker, former head teacher, Richard Gerver. Boxwood's guests represented a diverse range of organisations and sectors including property, investment, media, technology and services businesses.
On Wednesday 27 February, Boxwood hosted an evening with best selling author and influential business thinker Dan Pink, discussing his new book “To Sell Is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others”. Many of Dan’s thoughts and opinions are attuned to Boxwood's view of managing and implementing change effectively. Industry leaders from across advertising, banking, luxury brands, media and philanthropy attended the provoking event, which led to robust and engaging discussions about today and the future.
The winner of this year's Boxwood Award for Business Transformation, announced at the ceremony on 9th October 2012, is Kraft Foods. The company impressed the judges with the sheer scale, speed and complexity of the transformation - all achieved under the close scrutiny of a hostile media. Past winners of this award include Burton's Foods, Cadbury and The Co-operative Group.
Boxwood conducted a survey and interviews with global leaders, in collaboration with Planet Retail, on best in class business strategies and leadership approaches currently being adopted within the retail and FMCG industries. We launched the results and an insightful thought leadership paper at the World Retail Congress in London. After 40 days and 40 nights, The Big Egg Hunt campaign, run by Action for Children and Elephant Family, has come to a close. The Boxwood sponsored egg, designed by Jill Berelowitz, made it into the top 20 selling eggs. Anima Mundi "Awakening the soul of the world" sold for £6,750 in the auction. The final weekend of The Faberge Big Egg Hunt was an egg-cellent success - it broke the Guinness World Record for Most Participants in an Egg Hunt, involving 12,773 budding Sherlock's searching across London during the last six weeks. The final amount raised for the two charities was an impressive £667,000.
Boxwood hosted a roundtable luncheon at this year's Retail Week conference on Thursday 15 March 2012. The discussion was focused on what it takes to lead transformation, and was the start of a research campaign looking at leadership strategies and styles which enable successful transformation. The findings from this research will be launched at the World Retail Congress on 19th September 2012.
We ran a workshop at the Efficiency & Reform event on Tuesday 29th November 2011, at the Barbican. Our session focused on how to prioritise in the public sector when you have run out of money.
Boxwood held an event to raise money for our charity Bishop Creighton House. The event took place on Thursday 17th November 2011 at the National Musician's Church, St-Sepulchre-without-Newgate, in London. We raised just over £10,000.
Boxwood sponsored the Best Collaborative Practice award at the event which took place on 15th June in Berlin. The winners of the award were World Duty Free with Luxottica Group UK. We have also produced a viewpoint on collaboration.
Jon Dakin took part in a panel session at the Telecommunications Executive Network Annual Congress on 15th June 2011 at the Dorchester. The session focused on aligning IT vision in the cloud with business strategy and other panellists include the CIO's of Everything Everywhere, and Virgin Media.

We ran a masterclass at the Efficiency & Reform conference on Thursday 25th November at the Barbican Centre. During the masterclass we used our extensive commissioning experience to show how localising decision making and breaking down government silos will be essential for the delivery of improved outputs and outcomes at a lower cost.
Boxwood ran a masterclass with the Life Sciences Delivery Innovation Board and Jubilee Hall at the Healthy Communities conference on Thursday 7th October. The theme of the masterclass was around how to transform public health by utilising private and third sector channels and parntnerships.
